Group 34 presents: [CONVERTER]

[CONVERTER] is a solo play puzzler developed for a bachelor's dissertation research project into how game design can be used to evoke a feeling a lack of freedom and agency in a player. [CONVERTER] is designed to use anti-patterns of game design that aim to present the player with little freedom except to carry out mundane tasks with no impact on the game world. You play the role of a robot attached to a disassembly station in a recycling facility where you are abandoned to continue your work unsupervised, and unsupported.

[CONVERTER] was developed at Uppsala University Campus Gotland and was presented at the Gotland Game Conference 2025.
